Steve Trautwein is Director, Acquisition Policy for the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) National Security Policy division. Prior to joining AIA, Trautwein served in a variety of leadership roles with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) as the agency continued efforts to rebuild pricing capability generally, and specifically fulfill the National Defense Authorization requirements for the Department to build a cadre of analysts with commercial pricing expertise. Most recently, he had assisted with several leadership transitions in the DCMA Cost and Pricing Center, responsible for the management of all Corporate and Divisional Administrative Contracting Officers and conduct of several high profile cost reviews. Mr. Trautwein has over 39 years of experience in acquisition and previously served in a variety of leadership positions within DCMA; most recently as the Director of the DCMA Special Programs West Contract Management Office and Deputy Commander of DCMA Southern Europe immediately prior to that. Prior to these assignments he was in a variety of key acquisition positions at several of the largest DoD contractors. Mr. Trautwein holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from California State University, Sacramento; and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport R.I.
